A man who invented fifteen hundred necktie knots (newyorker.com)

I get amused at people looking at my bow tie and saying "I don't know how to tie that".

So I point to their shoe and say, "The open secret is that it's the same knot."

My Keens are secured with elastic and Velcro. No knots.

I still can't remember how to do one on demand. I always have to pull out a how-to guide video and then fail at it about 4-5 times before it's the least-bastardized version of the knot.

Do I have a problem?

I just know half Winsor, and when I need to do the [trinity knot](https://agreeordie.com/features/fashion/626-how-to-tie-a-nec...) for special events I have to look it up.

No that’s pretty normal. the guy in the article has a problem

Just wing it every time. Soon they'll be writing articles about all the knots you've invented!

I can always do a Four-in-Hand. Anything else is a video or instructions [1].

ABOK eat your heart out.

I just want to know how to tie a bowtie so it has peaky right-angle corners in the middle on the outside edges.

That has to do with the physical shape of the material, not a naughty knot.

Okay then, know it all, are you sure? Which knot configuration is it? Are you sure it's not cheating with starch or an insert? I've seen the same bowtie tied differently and looking completely different.

A bow tie uses a bow knot. It could be double-sided or something to vary the appearance.

Why fifteen hundred and not 1,500?
