Oh man, I did an upgrade from a i5-2000 series to a Ryzen 5000 series in a machine a while back and it was very worth it. It's great for compiling Rust projects compared to the Sandy Bridge processor, it's super fast.

Worth it to upgrade your storage, as well, to something modern. Makes it even faster for building larger projects.
