I only know enough to get me in trouble, but pcp is a general "framework" for performance monitoring... they have pcp versions/rewrites of all types of traditional monitoring utilities like vmstat, iostat, top.
Note: they don't overwrite/replace those utilities on the command line. You can still use the traditional utilities same as it ever was. The pcp versions are called like so: "pcp dstat" or "pcp atopsar".
