Not sure if sarcasm or not. This study would imply anything but meritocracy.


It's a meritocracy in the eyes of the employers. As the article states, for employers, merit is assessed on tbe basis of applicants' ability to learn new things, being adaptable and flexible and being driven and taking initiative. What we don't know is whether employers are correct in their assumption that 40-plus applicants can't cut it on those considerations.
