They will be entertained. I laughed harder than my 6 year old, he enjoyed it and probably also enjoyed seeing dad splitting sides. I think for your range they’ll understand and like it more. YMMV
The system rewards psychopaths like Mark. Decent people, like Tom from MySpace, cash their check when they have more than they need. Demons, like Mark, want more and more and more and more- they will go to any lengths to get it because screw everyone else, they are lessers. That’s Mark and that’s the system rewarding him. We all know Tom is way cooler.
I've been down to single-digit dollars, in situations where I was forced to choose between food or gas. I also had "never ever have any credit card debt" drilled into me from a young age, and as a result didn't even have a credit card at the time to make sure the temptation to use it wasn't an option.
I ate a lot of ramen, rice, or sometimes nothing, but eventually made it through. If I had racked up a bunch of debt I would have been poor much longer, though it might have been healthier for me.
Yes, they can, but what’s your point? It seems reflexive/defensive, like the parent comment was wrong for not caring, and that they could support smaller leagues… but they said they don’t. Some people don’t.
Exactly, I just don’t really care about sports and find it bizarre how many people are into them. I’ve made an effort with friends who like sports, but never found it appealing. I guess it’s not for me.
> I felt much more embarrassed and worried about the workers who saw me there all the time than the app knowing i was there all the time.
As you should - this is setting terrible meal expectations for your daughter and fueling a condition that will severely affect her development. No joke - feeding her that garbage is ignoring the problem and making it worse. You should sit down at the table with her instead of going round the drive thru again, and get some interventions other than a stream of chicken nuggets.
> No one is purely good, and no one is purely evil.
This post is utter bullshit and I think we’re all tired of the apologists, especially when it comes to Mark. These “middle of the road, let’s all be nice” solutions haven’t worked at all, and saying “Meta has done enough good” is extraordinarily questionable for those of us who have watched these tools rip apart the social fabric. Absolutely nothing will change when toothless people like yourself try to act like Mark is a normal person - we’ve all seen his fake, robotic, controlling, psychotic behavior over and over and over and over.
There’s a constant cultural stream of validation for their job, and the more narcissistic ones come to collect from it. You’re missing the many who don’t do that.
Small farmer here: it’s true. Supermarket food is horrible in terms of nutrition and taste, but it’s laden with literal shit too.
For example, milk is pasteurized because dairies are too lazy careless to keep literal shit out of the milk. Sure, they filter out the chunks, but a huge number of pathogens remain.
When heated those cells die, but guess what? All of their cellular machinery is still present in the final product. It can’t infect you as such, but it sure as hell isn’t anything that you should be drinking.
Look up the USDA standards for contamination. Food production involves industrial processes with necessarily loose safety margins, due to the relative scale of operations. If a small farmer caused this outbreak, they would be burnt to the ground, but anyone think this will impact the guilty beyond a minor dip in stock price?
Those corps do not care one whit about individuals any more than Apple or Facebook cares about their customers, unless you count how it affects their next quarterly statements.
